For the people who have been seriously impacted from Hurricane No.5, that has landed and caused large scale damages in the Vietnamese provinces of Thua Thien – Hue, Quang Tri and Quang Binh. Donations will be sent direct to the local Vietnam Fatherland Front, a government institution. Details are below.
In the not so distant memories of locals, the tragic storm and floods of 1983 have returned in 2020. The locals of the Vietnamese provinces of Thua Thien – Hue, Quang Tri and Quang Binh provinces are currently suffering another severe disaster from Mother Nature.
Right on the heels of the Covid-19 pandemic, Hurricane No. 5, as classified by Vietnamese meteorologist, has since made landfall in the middle of September. It’s arrival has resulted in serious damages to the local population health and livelihood in the central area of Vietnam.
Initial reports have stated large number of dead and wounded, thousands houses flooded, and tens of thousands displaced. The surrounding ecosystem has seen many livelihoods destroyed. Reports show crops, animals, homes, and other assets have been severely damaged or destroyed all together.
In order to provide to emergency assistance and support to rebuild the local livelihoods we are requesting your support in donations. The contributions you make will greatly help the people in the affected areas. The funds will go towards housing, food, and establishing education centers for children and their families.
This effort is coordinated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front in all three provinces to bridge your donation to the people in need in a transparent fashion. All receipts of the donations will be verified and confirmed with the local government.
